Reflect on your success instead

Top tip presented by Gary King of Tendo.

Normally when I’m sharing content with you, I’m talking about how many business owners I talk to are incredibly frustrated and anxious that they’ve not quite achieved the results they wanted.

And of course, that’s where people like me get to help them. I want to put a slightly different slant on this today and encourage each and every one of you to reflect on everything that you’ve done and everything that you’ve achieved in the last year.

And you will actually find that sometimes, when anxiety causes you to be really frustrated and angry that you’re not achieving the results that you want; you’ve actually achieved a hell of a lot more than you think and appreciate.

So what I’d like you to do is. I’d like you to get a piece of paper and fold it so you’ve got three columns. And in the first column, and this could be you reflecting when you’re in the bath, it could be you reflecting over a glass of your favourite drink one evening, or just when you got a few quiet moments, during some time in the office, I want you to write in the first column, everything that you’ve achieved in the past year.

Now that could be that you’ve won this amazing client you’ve been chasing forever, it could be that you’ve got rid of that client that’s a pain in the ass. It could be that you finally started to generate passive income. It could be that you’ve built some online content, you’ve done some work on your online brand. Write down everything that you’ve achieved in the year.

In the middle column, I want you to write down everything that you could have achieved better results from or everything, every area you could have done something better. So it could be planning or preparation, or you weren’t decisive enough on a particular occasion. Write down everything that you could have done better that you can learn from and improve in the next year.

And in the third column, I want you to write down your goals for the next year. Some business goals, and some personal goals.

I bet you will find that you’ve actually achieved a hell of a lot more than you thought you would.

You’ve got a few areas where you can improve and you’ve got a few personal and business goals that you can set your focus on.

I hope that’s been of interest. Put that little tool in place and I hope to hear how you’ve got on once you’ve completed that.

Take care for now.
